Watch: Autorickshaw drivers protest against bike taxi service in Bengaluru, detained
The autorickshaw drivers’ union has called a ‘bandh’in Bengaluru on March 20 demanding a ban on bike taxi service in the city. They also carried out a march in the city.
The autorickshaw drivers said that the bike taxi service will threaten their livelihoods.
During the protest march several autorickshaw drivers were detained by the police. Office goers felt difficulties in commuting due to the bandh.

“By not taking any action against the illegal Rapido services, the government has miserably failed to safeguard the interest of the auto drivers. The bike taxi services have destroyed the livelihoods of auto drivers. Despite multiple appeals to initiate action against such services, the government has done nothing,” M Manjunath, the convener of the federation, was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
