Uttar Pradesh: At least 17 dead, 35 left critically injured in a road accident after a speeding bus hits the divider; over turns in Mainpuri

In a tragic accident, at least 17 people were charred to death and near about 35 others were left critically injured after a speeding bus hit a divider in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri district on Wednesday morning. According to an initial probe, the driver was driving the bus at high speed due to which it was out of control that led to the collision between the bus and divider. The bus overturned upside down.

The accident happened in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri's Danhara area. The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital. Three of the injured among 35 are in critical condition. The driver of the bus had also got injured and is currently being treated at a hospital. The police are waiting to record his statement.


Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death of the passengers in the bus accident. He has also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the departed people. The chief minister also instructed officials to take all measures possible for the appropriate treatment of those injured. An initial investigation is being carried out.
