Day after exit poll predicted clean sweep win in 17th Lok Sabha poll, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sacked minister OP Rajbhar, an estranged ally from Cabinet.

Yogi had asked the Uttar Pradesh Governor to remove Rajbhar, who had wanted out a month ago. Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik accepted CM Yogi's request to dissmiss Rajbhar. BJP's estrange ally, Rajbhar had been part of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh since 2017. He had been critical for the Chief Minister for nearly a year.

Governor Ram Naik accepted CM Yogi Adityanath's request & dismissed Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party chief OM Prakash Rajbhar from the post of Minister for Backward Class Welfare & 'Divyangjan' Empowerment in UP cabinet with immediate effect, reported ANI.

Meanwhile, chief of the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party, Rajbhar who welcomes CM's decision, had claimed to have handed in his resignation last month.

"We welcome his decision. CM has taken a very good decision. He formed the Social Justice Committee & threw its report in a dustbin, he didn't have spare time to implement it. I request him to implement the Social Justice Committee's report as quickly as he took this decision today," OP Rajbhar said.

OP Rajbhar's sacking came a day after exit polls predicted a enormous victory for the BJP-led NDA in the national election and another term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi government.
