As General election is approaching, Shivpal Yadav, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (PSP) is all set to contest Lok Sabha election. Yadav announced this on Saturday and said he will contest from Firozabad against his nephew Akshay Yadav.

Akshay is the son of Ram Gopal Yadav, estrange cousin of Shivpal Yadav. The former UP minister said that he was forced to leave Samajwadi Party and form his own party, after Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister and son of Mulayam Singh Yadav, founder of Samajwadi Party (SP).

Recently, Shivpal Yadav took a jibe at Samajwadi Party- Bahujan Samaj Party’s alliance for Lok Sabha elections. Yadav said neither he nor his elder brother Mulayam Singh Yadav ever considered Mayawati "behen ji" (sister). "How can Akhilesh call her 'bua' (aunt)?" he questioned.

Shivpal also said Akhilesh Yadav is the one who cheated his own father and uncle. "I did everything for Akhilesh. But it is for all to see how he treated me," said the legislator from Jaswantnagar in Etawah. The 63-year-old also said that Akhilesh Yadav cannot be trusted.
