In a major blow to the BJP president Amit Shah, the Chief Justice’s bench of the Calcutta High Court has quashed the verdict of the single bench and has canceled the Rath Yatra of BJP in West Bengal.

Earlier, the Rath Yatra was allowed by the single bench order of the Calcutta High Court and BJP had sighed a relief but the Trinamool Congress had moved to the chief justice bench and sought time regarding the matter.

From the government’s side, senior lawyer and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi was appearing before the court and has led the TMC party to victory.

The Rath Yatra was scheduled to start from tomorrow but now as it stands canceled, the BJP will be looking for other options. The bench of the chief justice said that the law and order situation could arise due to the Rath Yatra of the BJP and it must cancel it immediately.
