For the auspicious moment, PM Modi dressed in traditional dhoti-kurta. He was accompanied by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, around 175 eminent guests have been invited for the bhoomi pujan event. Besides, PM Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Mahant Nritya Gopaldas Maharaj, and UP CM Yogi Adityanath are also present at the bhoomi pujan site.

Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan Updates:

At 12:44:08 pm, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the Ram Mandir that will be constructed at the Ram Janmbhoomi Sthal.

According to the priest presiding Ram Mandir Bhoomi pujan, “Nine bricks were kept which were sent by devotees of Lord Rama from around the world in 1989. There 2 lakh 75 thousand such bricks out of which 100 bricks with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ engraving have been taken.”

Before reaching the bhoomi pujan site, PM Modi was presented with a headgear, silver ‘mukut’, and stole by Sri Gaddinsheen Premdas Maharaj, head priest of 10th-century Hanumangarhi Temple.

As per the tradition, PM Modi first visited the 10th century Hanuman Garhi Temple on his arrival in Ayodhya. In the wake of coronavirus, the premises of the temple were sanitized earlier today.
