
For the third time in two days, Congress party's vice-president Rahul Gandhi was detained on 3 November at the Feroz Shah Police station, as he arrived at Jantar Mantar for a protest over the suicide of an army veteran.
According to media reports, Gandhi was taken into a Police Control Room jeep. It was due to security purpose that Gandhi was taken away, said police.
Gandhi, was leading a candle light march organised by the Delhi Congress unit from Jantar Mantar to India Gate when police personnel restrained him and whisked him away on a van.
Commenting on the situation, the Congress leader Manish Tewari was quoted by NDTV as saying, "All we can say is that this is no democracy."

Commenting on his detention, Rahul Gandhi said that he was detained because of sec 144. He further added that we should respect the soldiers who are standing for our security at the border and their families too.
Following Gandhi's detention, Congress workers staged a protest on the streets of New Delhi.
