Mumbai: GST officer commits suicide by jumping off from the World Trade Centre; here’s why

GST officer commits suicide

In a shocking incident, a GST (Goods and Service Tax) superintendent officer committed suicide by jumping off from the 30th floor of World Trade Centre at Cuffe Parade in Mumbai. The victim was soon rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The victim was identified as Harendra Kapadia a 51-year-old man who took this shocking step on Monday at 6:30 pm in the evening. According to the Times Now reports, the victim was keeping upset from his illness and to get rid of it he took this drastic step of suicide.

As per Mid Day reports, Harendra stopped attending office from around 8-10 months as he was suffering from brain stroke after which he went under the treatment at Kokilaben hospital. As per the police, he rejoined the office three months ago after his treatment but continued suffering from dementia.

Meanwhile, the police informed his family while a case of Accidental Death Record has been filed. Also, the police have recorded the statement of the people who were present there on duty.
