Samajwadi Party Patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav slammed his son and party chief Akhilesh Yadav over alliance with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party. Days after praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha session, Mulayam Singh questioned the alliance between SP and Bahujan Samaj Party.

Mulayam Singh asserted that he holds more experience in the party though he doesn’t understand on what basis Akhilesh joined hands with Mayawati. Singh also hit out at his son for delaying the decision on seats. Former UP CM said if Akhilesh cannot understand whom to give the ticket, then he should be consulted.

“Party ko khatam kaun kar raha hai? Apni hi party ke log. Itni mazboot party bani thi. Akele 3 baar sarkar banai, teeno baar hum CM rahe, Raksha Mantri bhi rahe, mazboot party thi. Hum rajneeti nahi kar rahe, lekin hum sahi baat rakh rahe hain,” said Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Mulayam Singh praised PM Modi-led goverment and said that BJP is on a much better footing this time while the SP is lagging far behind.

Earlier, on the last day of Lok Sabha session on February 13, Mulayam Singh expressed that he hopes Narendra Modi become Prime Minister again.

"I want to congratulate the PM that he tried to move ahead taking everyone along. I hope all members will win and return, and you (PM Modi) become the prime minister again,” said Mulayam Singh in Parliament.

The Prime Minister acknowledged it with folded hands and said. "There is much to do to carry forward the development agenda. And Mulayam Singhji has given his blessings. I am very grateful to him."
