Military intelligence captured a scrap dealer in the Jaisalmer of Rajasthan, He had the heavy quantity of illegal cannonballs, in which he had more than 400 cannonballs of Bofors tank and T-92 tank. It has been reported that several cannonballs are still alive. The godown of scrap dealer was raided who were doing business with Army and used to buy the scrap from range. He was buying scraps from Pokharan Field Firing range. However. Army has denied the claim of any living cannonball, they said all the fire piece were diffused before selling.

Military intelligence received an input that, the bomb of Army range has been sold in the scrap without destroying them in the Pokhran Firing range. An officer involved in investigation informed that when they reached the site, the accused were planning to melt the bomb after cutting them into pieces by the gas cutter.

It was lucky that the team of MI reached the site on right time. The bombs were sent from the Jodhpur-based 19 FOD to the field firing range. The army was responsible to destroy the ammunition belongs to the Bofors and T 92 tanks but the responsible people sold it without following the necessary step to diffuse the live bombs. It has been seen as the huge breach in the security system of Army as well as irresponsibility from the side of people appointed to deal with the ammunition scrap.
