On 23rd May India got two Narendra Damodardas Modi, one of them was new to the world and the other was a profound political leader and elected as Prime Minister for the second consecutive year. Yes! Impressed with the Prime Minister, a Muslim woman named her newborn baby boy after him “Narendra Damodardas Modi''.
The mother of the baby identified as Mainaz Begum, stood by her decision as several people tried to convince her to change the baby’s name. Failed in their attempt, the family in Parsapur Mahraur village has filed an affidavit seeking the registration of the name.
According to reports, the child was born on May 23, when the results for the Lok Sabha election was announced. Then Mainaz Begum came up with the idea to name her child after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who won a massive mandate in Lok Sabha election.
People around her tried to make her change her mind, but she was adamant, her father-in-law Idrees told PTI. Even her husband Mushtaq Ahmed, who works in Dubai tried to make her drop the idea when he was informed about it.
"After he was born his mother called his father in Dubai, who asked whether PM Modi's leading. He then asked to name his son Narendra Modi," infant's grandfather said.
The family then filed an affidavit addressed to the district magistrate and submitted it to Assistant Development Officer (panchayat) Ghanshyam Pandey. "Action will be taken as per the law," said Pandey, after he received the affidavit on Friday.
