At least one policeman has been killed and five were injured in a grenade attack and firing at a police station at Yaripora in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

"Someone from the mob hurled a grenade towards the police personnel during stone pelting on police station Yaripora. The grenade attack was followed by firing also," PTI quoted a police officer.

This is the second grenade attack in the last four days. The first attack in Srinagar had injured 12 soldiers.

The Valley has been embroiled in turmoil ever since Burhan Wani, the 22-year-old commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen, was shot dead in an encounter in Kashmir's Anantnag during a joint operation by the Indian Army and Kashmiri Police on 8 July.
