Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah on Monday stated that his party respects the mandate of voters in Jharkhand, as BJP was defeated by rival JMM-Congress alliance in the assembly polls.

Through a tweet, Amit Shah also expressed his thanks to the people of Jharkhand for giving the BJP an opportunity to govern the state for the last five years and maintained that his party stays dedicated to its progress.

He also extolled BJP workers for their vigorous endeavours in the assembly election.

According to the latest development, the BJP has won or is ahead in 25 seats while rival JMM-Congress alliance appears all set to win a majority of seats in the 81 member state assembly.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had won 37 seats in the 2014 assembly elections.
