Independence Day 2018: Planning to go out in Delhi? Know the unrestricted routes before going

Today, our country is celebrating its 72nd Independence Day and on this auspicious occasion, the security in Delhi has tightened and several routes in the capital have been diverted due to the security and safety reasons.

Traffic Police have imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicular especially on 6 roads around Red Fort.


However, today is the national holiday and most people would enjoy their holiday at their home but, if you are planning to go outside or having no holiday today then, these routes you should avoid today.

Check the list of roads which have been closed today for the general public on the occasion of Independence Day:

1. Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail
2. Lothian Road from GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail
3. S.P. Mukherjee Marg from HC Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk
4. Chandni Chowk Road from Fountain Chowk to Red Fort
5. Nishad Raj Marg from Ring Road to Netaji Subash Marg
6. Esplanade Road and its Link Road to Netaji Subash Marg

Earlier, traffic police have also issued a list of roads that may be avoided by vehicles which don’t have parking labels for rehearsals: Mathura Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Tilak Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Subhash Marg, Ring Road between Nizamuddin Bridge and ISBT bridge.

If you are also planning to surf the capital today then think twice before going towards these roads between 5:00 am to 9:00 am.
