Four suffocate to death while cleaning sewer in Pune
Four people died due to asphyxiation while attempting to clean the sewage pit in Pune, police said on March 15.
The incident occurred in Baramati area when Praveen Atole went inside the pit to clean a motor pipe but immediately fainted due to toxic gases.

When Praveen did not come out after some time, his father rushed inside to save him but also fell unconscious.
Two others went into the pit to save Praveen and his father, but they also fell unconscious and died.
Police were informed and arrived at the scene to recover the four bodies from the sewage pit.
A case has been lodged, and further investigation is underway.
