Five accused deserve death, nothing less: Unnao rape victim's brother

Brother of Unnao rape victim said, "I have nothing really to say. My sister is no more with us, my only demand is that the five accused deserve death and nothing less."
The victim's father has also demanded the death penalty for the accused persons.

Meanwhile, the Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Sunil Gupta told to news agency ANI, that, the Post mortem of the victim will take place at 10 am today, under the leadership of Dr MK Wahi, Head of Department of Forensic unit.


"Uttar Pradesh Police and Delhi Police are completing their paperwork, they will not be part of the forensic procedure, " Dr Gupta added.

On Friday night, the five accused were taken to jail from court yesterday night, after being remanded to 14-day judicial custody.


The victim was airlifted to Delhi and admitted to Safdarjung Hospital after she was allegedly set on fire by five persons, died at 11.40 pm yesterday.


After battling for life at Delhi's Safdarjung hospital, the Unnao Rape victim who was set ablaze while on her way to a court hearing on Thursday, died at 11.40 pm Friday.

Dr Shalab Kumar, HoD of burns and plastic department at the hospital said, "It is very sad that the Unnao rape victim could not survive despite our best efforts. She suffered cardiac arrest at 11:10 pm and we tried to resuscitate her, but she could not survive."

The victim was on Thursday allegedly set on fire by a group of five men, including one who was accused of the crime. Five men have been arrested in this connection.

The woman was on her way to the railway station to catch an early morning train to Rae Bareli when she was stopped by the accused. Then the accused persons hit her head and attacked with a sharp weapon on her neck. As the woman slumped, they poured kerosene on the body and then set her on fire.The accused fled the scene soon after.

Some passersby had come to her rescue and informed the local police.Then police reached the spot and sent the victim to a hospital for treatment. Later, she was airlifted to Delhi as her condition did not respond wells.
