In an unprecedented situation at a toll booth in Haryana’s Gurugram, a booth staff was dragged for around eight kilometres on the National Highway 8 after he tried to stop the car.

The incident shocked everyone and it took place in the afternoon at around 12:40pm on April 13 when the employee Ashok Kumar had tried to stop the Toyota Innova at the Kherki Dhaula toll plaza and the car didn’t stop, instead hooked the staff on the bonnet and drove for at least eight kms.

DCP Rajesh Singh, in a statement said, “The car with four occupants, in a bid to run away without paying toll tax, hit the boom barrier, Kumar came out of the booth and the errant driver hit him hard following which he fell on the bonnet. The driver then pressed the accelerator paddle.”

The incident is not new as it has happened in the past at the toll booths in the Delhi-NCR region, a spat or violence had taken place due to some unforeseen situation, arising out of an argument or other reasons.
