Election Commission announces poll schedule for Jharkhand assembly elections

Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in five phases begining 30th November. Counting of votes will take place on 23rd December.

The Election Commission of India put forth the poll schedule for Jharkhand assembly polls on Friday. Nomination process would commence on 6th November while the last date is 14 November. 16th November will be the last date to withdraw nominations. The state of Jharkhand has a total of 81 assembly constituencies. Raghubar Das is the current chief minister of Jharkhand.


Phase 1 - 30th November

Phase 2 - 7th December

Phase 3 - 12th December

Phase 4 - 16th December

Phase 5 - 20th December

 

The term of the 81 Jharkhand assembly seat ends on 5th January next year. Jharkhand has 14 seats in the Lok Sabha. During last assembly elections in 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had come out as the single largest party, winning 37 seats with a 31.8 percent vote share.
