Delhi Assembly Polls 2020: Big jolt for BJP! EC bans Anurag Thakur for 3 days, Parvesh Verma for 4

Election Commission of India have for the moment ordered two BJP leaders off the Delhi campaign trail as they proceed with a crackdown on controversial public statement targeting the demonstrators objecting the amended Citizenship Act.

BJP leader Anurag Thakur, who was seen leading chants of, "Desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maaro s**lon ko on Monday, has been banned for 72 hours.


While on the other hand, BJP MP Pravesh Verma, who stated on Tuesday that demonstrators at Shaheen Bagh were capable of raping and killing women, has been banned for 96 hours.

Previously, another BJP leader Kapil Mishra, was banned for his statement he made about Shaheen Bagh.

Delhi will go to polls on 8th February to decide what is shaping up to be a two way battle between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP.

Results will be announced on February 11.
