CBI arrests P Chidambaram in INX Media case; here's timeline of events

CBI has arrested P Chidambaram in INX Media case after long 29 hours of the race from his residence at Jor Bagh. Just before his arrest P Chidambaram did a press conference at Congress office around 8.15 PM and in the press conference, he said that he was not running away but was finding a legal way.

Then CBI who was in search of former union minister went to his residence and arrested him after a high voltage drama. After his arrest, CBI also did Medical examination of him. In midst of all these events, Congress workers are protesting opposite CBI headquarters.

Timeline of events of CBI arrested P Chidambaram in INX Media case:

8.15 PM: P Chidambaram addressed a press conference alongside Kapil Sibbal, Abhishek Manu Sanghvi, and other big leaders. He requested CBI agency to not arrest him till Friday. "No charge-sheet has been filed against me by either CBI or ED. Even the FIR filed by CBI doesn't accuse me in any wrong doing," he said.


8.45 PM: P Chidambaram reaches his residence at Jor Bagh after the press conference and locked himself inside the home.


9.15 PM: CBI reaches Chidambaram residence and tries to enter his house. However, after a lot of effort, he jumps the gate of Chidambaram's residence to get inside.


10.15 PM: Finally, CBI arrested Chidambaram from his residence after a high voltage drama and in between the protest of Congress workers.

Karti Chidambaram, P Chidambaram's son says he will fight his father's case both politically and legally. He even threatens to protest against the arrest at Jantar Mantar.
