The act of TMC rebel leader Suvendu Adhikari joining BJP in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah speaks volumes about PM Narendra Modi's increasing clout in West Bengal's politics.

Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday reiterated that BJP aims to cross 200 seats in West Bengal Assembly Election due early next year. Amit Shah asserted that senior TMC leaders "are fed up with corruption in the party and high-handedness of Mamata Didi".

Allow us to campaign in West Bengal: Shah
Amit Shah in Midnapore alleged that BJP leaders coming to West Bengal for election campaigning are being attacked with bricks.
Responding to a question that Mamata plans to carry out 600 rallies in the run-up to the assembly election next year, Amit Shah said: This is a good and welcome step but Mamata Didi should allow BJP to hold rallies in West Bengal. She would easily hold rallies as she runs the government here, but rally permissions to BJP leaders are denied, and even the party supporters are stopped from reaching the rally venue.

Political killings of BJP workers on the rise: Amit Shah

BJP has alleged that more than 300 BJP workers have been killed in recent years in West Bengal, but no real action has been initiated against criminals.

Not scared, ready to face challenges: Shah
"Despite political killings, we are firm and determined to fight for the people of West Bengal, and this time BJP workers will overthrow TMC government", said Amit Shah.

BJP workers are not outsider: Amit Shah
Amit Shah rubbished Mamata Banerjee's outside charge on BJP. " Here in West Bengal, BJP workers from West Bengal will defeat Mamata Banerjee, and the BJP Chief Minister will be from West Bengal only," Amit Shah claimed.
