AJL moves Supreme Court against Delhi HC order of vacating Herald House

The Associated Journal Limited has moved Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court verdict of vacating the Herald House, from where Congress owned newspaper National Herald functions.

In its verdict, the High Court had found that dominant purpose for which the lease was granted has been violated.


The Delhi High Court observed that “We also see no reason to make any indulgence into a reasonable order passed by the writ court in the facts and circumstances of the present case,” the bench said. It said no ground is made out for making any indulgence into the matter and “we dismiss the appeal.
