Days after BJP-led NDA’s clean sweep victory in Lok Sabha election, Operation Lotus 2.0 returns in Karnataka as Congress leader and former MLA has made a shocking claim over Congress-JDS alliance government in Karnataka. Congress leader KN Rajanna on Monday claimed that this alliance government will collapse by June.

Rajanna said that G Parameshwara would remain, Deputy CM of Karnataka, till Narendra Modi takes oath as the Prime Minister for the second term.

“G. Parameshwara will remain as the Deputy Chief Minister till the Prime Minister takes the oath, after that he will not be a minister and this government will not remain in power as it will collapse next month after 10th June,” KN Rajanna said.

In 2019 Lok Sabha election BJP+ had a landslide victory by getting 27 out 28 Lok Sabha seats, a historic win for the saffron party in south India.

Last year in June, HD Kumaraswamy of JD(S) became the Chief Minister of Karnataka by joining hands with Congress’ after the Grand Old Party failed to achieve the majority mark under the leadership of Siddaramaiah in the state.

There was a neck-to-neck fight in Karnataka and the matter reached Supreme Court where Governor Vajubhai Vala’s decision was upheld, but the top court asked BS Yeddyurappa to prove his majority in the floor test. However the largest party, BJP failed to prove its majority on the floor of the house and BS Yeddyurappa had to resign, opening a door for the Congress-JD(S) government.
