Coldplay released their new song, Hymn For The Weekend, which features Beyonce as an Indian actress. The music video, which was shot in India, also gives a glimpse of Sonam Kapoor. While the song might find a place in playlist of ardent Coldplay fans, a section of Indians on social networking websites have questioned Coldplay for their depiction of India.
The music video gives an overview of India as the same old, same old Holi playing, sea of slums nation with a broken single screen theatre in Mumbai, as against the developed places in the business capital of India.
Just because it's Beyoncé doesn't mean she can't do wrong. She is appropriating. pic.twitter.com/a6pvFCjhuj
