Bulandshahr gangrape case: Court seeks details on alleged irregularities in police probe

The Allahabad High Court today directed the petitioner in the Bulandshahr gangrape case to file details by 5 July on the alleged irregularities in the police probe in the matter.

The order was passed by a Lucknow bench comprising justices Amreshwar Pratap Sahi and Vijay Laxmi on a PIL seeking directions for a CBI probe in the Bulandshahr gangrape case and for making proper security arrangements on highways in UP.

An NGO, 'We the People' filed this PIL through its general secretary Prince Lenin.

Lenin said proper security arrangements were necessary at highways specially in the night so that people could move safely.

A woman and here daughter were brutally gangraped by dacoits who dragged them out of a car in Bulandshahr on NH-91 when they were travelling with their family from Noida to Shahjahanpur.
