The Indian Premier League's 11th edition is all set to make a smashing start on 7th April. Well in this season of IPL it is the trickiest time for the sides Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad after losing their captain- Steve Smith and David Warner. The Aussie duo player stepped down as a captain of their respective teams and was later barred by BCCI following the decision of Cricket Australia banning the duo cricketer indulged in the ball-tampering scandal.
Following the ball-tampering row, franchises of side Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad handover the leadership to Ajinkya Rahane and Kane Williamson but lost their marquee players remains to be a huge problem. In 2017 IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad was leading run-scorer hence, their dependency on David Warner can be justified.
However, the duo Aussie players won't be able to participate in the 11th edition of IPL following their 12 months ban.
The franchise has to replace their team's main batsmen, Smith and Warners in such a short span of time and it is a tough task.
Here are five unsold players who can replace Steve Smith and David Warner in IPL2018:
This is beyond the belief that South African batsman Hashim Amla went unsold in the IPL Auction 2018. Amla made her IPL debut in 2016 for Kings XI Punjab.
The wonder performance of Eoin Morgan to England’s limited-overs’ is unbelievable. However, the cricketer failed to be sold into IPL 2018. Morgan has scored 854 runs in 52 IPL matches at an average of 21.35.
The Australian all-rounder cricketer Moises Henriques went unsold that gave a big shocker to the IPL fans. Henriques had scored 182 runs and picked up 12 wickets in 2016 to help SRH win the title.
An Integral performer of IPL's side Mumbai Indians Lendl Simmons went unsold in IPL 2018. He had scored 394 and 540 runs in 2014 and 2015 editions of IPL, respectively, before an injury forced him to stay out of action in 2016.
It was very shocking to believe that England’s Test skipper Joe Root went unsold in IPL auction 2018. Undoubtedly this 27-year-old cricketer is one of the best batsmen in world cricket. Joe has scored 743 runs in 25 T20Is so far at an average of 39.11 and strike-rate of 128.77.
