Leicester City regained their position at the top of the Premier League table on Saturday, 5 December, following a 3-0 win over Swansea City, as Manchester City crashed to a 2-0 defeat at Stoke to drop down to the third spot.
In an action-packed Saturday, Stoke City pulled off an upset in the afternoon kickoff as Marko Arnautovic scored a brace to ensure 3 points for the Mark Hughes-coached side.
With City dropping points, the road was clear for Manchester United and Leicester City to take advantage at the top of the table. However, while United failed to score in a drab, goalless draw against West Ham, Leicester thrashed Swansea City 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium to regain their position at the top.
In another game, Arsenal defeated Sunderland 3-1, with goals from Joel Campbell, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey, to climb to the second spot in the table. The Gunners now lie just two points behind leaders Leicester, with 30 points from 15 games.
Meanwhile, Chelsea continued their poor run of form in the league, as Bournemouth handed Jose Mourinho's men a 1-0 defeat at the Stamford Bridge Stadium to heap more pressure on the Portuguese tactician.
With the loss, Chelsea remain in the second half of the table, with just 15 points from the same number of games.
The scores:
Stoke City 2-0 Manchester City
Manchester United 0-0 West Ham United
Watford 2-0 Norwich City
Southampton 1-1 Aston Villa
Arsenal 3-1 Sunderland
Swansea City 0-3 Leicester City
West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth
