Parents will no longer have to stand in queues for their children's admission to Class 6 in Delhi government schools. Going forward, parents will be handed over admissions slips in MCD schools from 15 March to 1 April, 2017, said Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday.

Sisodia held a meeting with officials of the Directorate of Education and commissioners of the MCDs and directed the department to send principals and teachers of Delhi government schools to MCD-run schools and handover admission slips to children studying in Class 5 in the current academic session.

"The admission data will be made online after getting data from MCDs and admission slips will be handed over to students," informed the department.

Children and teachers of MCDs schools will also be invited to government schools to celebrate children parties between 1 to 15 April, 2017.

Earlier, children from MCD schools would approach centres for admission in Class 6 in Delhi government schools. Sisodia also asked MCD education officials to organise summer camps in their schools during summer vacations and encourage the reading abilities of children.
