Delhi's Aam Admi Party (AAP) government has announced a package of Rs 1 crore for the kin of the government school teacher who was stabbed to death on 26 September.

Two Class 12 students of a government school in West Delhi's Nangloi area allegedly stabbed their teacher on 26 September. The teacher was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The incident occurred at the school premises at around 5pm. Mukesh Kumar, a Hindi teacher, was stabbed three times by two Class 12 students - including one who had been recently expelled due to low attendance.

"We have announced a package of Rs 1 crore for the family of the teacher. The two students have been taken into custody by police. The next course of action will now be decided by the government," a Delhi government official told Catch.

Manish Sisodia, Delhi's Deputy CM tweeted saying: "Loss of the teacher's death cannot be compensated. The government has extended a financial help of Rs 1 crore to the affected family."
