
Four Indian institutions made it to the top 50 in the QS University rankings Asia 2016.
IISc Bangalore (Rank 33), IIT Bombay (Rank 35), IIT Delhi (Rank 36), IIT Madras (Rank 43) are the four institutes that are consigned in the top 50.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released its ranking of universities, highlighting the world's top varsities. Published annually since 2011 the indicators that are kept in mind in grading them are academic peer review, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, employer reputation, international student ratio and international staff ratio.
IISc Bangalore jumped one place from its position of last year which was 34. IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay bounced its positions of preceding years- 42 and 46 respectively. IIT-Madras jumped 13 positions to enter the top 50 zone this year.
