Repeated rains in Gurgaon have choked the roads with knee-deep water on National Highway 8 leaving thousands of commuters stranded in Gurgaon on 29 July.
Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has also directed National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Chairman Raghav Chandra to send a team of officials to NH8 to help Gurgaon authorities ease the traffic at the highway at the earliest.

28 July evening onwards, the city witnessed heavy traffic jams for more than 12 hours after the constant rain left the Hero Honda Chowk in Gurgaon glutted.

The situation in the city got so bad that the authorities were forced issue orders to keep schools shut for two days.
