Will Virat Kohli join MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev after defeating Australia in World Cup?

Today, Team India will play their second match in the World Cup 2019 against Australia. This is going to be a tough game between India and Australia as both the teams are the most contender teams of the world cup 2019. However, India has never been so good records against Australia and most of the time India has got a defeat by Australia in the World Cup.

1st World Cup match Win against Australia in 1983 under Kapil Dev's captaincy

Till now India has played around 11 matches against Austalia and in only 3 matches India has been able to defeat Australia. The journey of India playing against Australia started in 1983 where Kapil Dev led team got defeated by Australia with a margin of 162 runs. However, India took revenge from Australia in the same tournament to qualify for Semi-finals, India defeated Australia by 118 runs in Kapil Dev's captaincy.

2nd Win against Australia was also led by Kapil Dev in World Cup 1987

India was playing at his home ground as they were the defending champions of the world cup 1987. In the first match against Australia, India got a defeat by just 2 runs. However, again Kapil Dev led team took revenge in Azharuddin's master class performance against Australia in their second match against the team in World Cup 1987. India won that match by 56 runs with the help of Azharuddin's all-rounder performance.

3rd Win against Australia was led by MS Dhoni in World Cup 2011

Team India played quarter-final against Australia in 2011 in Ahmedabad. Once again Ricky Ponting hit a century against team India and he got the help of Brad Haddin (53) to set the target of 261 runs. Now, team India came to chase the score and Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir gave a strong start to team India. However, India lost its 5th wicket in the form of MS Dhoni at 187 runs. Then Man of The Match, Yuvraj Singh and all rounder Suresh Raina took the responsibility to win the match by chasing down the total in 48th over.

Well, all the hope is now on Virat Kohli who is the captain of the team in 2019 World Cup. Team India will be playing their 12th match against Australia in the World Cup.
