Former team India skipper MS Dhoni has risen through ranks in the national cricket team. Dhoni’s determination and his will to succeed makes him special. Dhoni is known for his patience and composure. Here’s a video shared by former team India mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton where MS Dhoni can be seen watching Sachin Tendulkar throwing bouncers at VVS Laxman.

In 2008, during a Test match between India and England, Sachin Tendulkar was giving bouncer practice to VVS Laxman in the Chennai dressing room and MS Dhoni was observing it closely. Laxman left the first one and ducked the second while MS Dhoni keeps a close watch.

The practice, however, didn’t help much as Laxman scored 37, 26, 0 and 15 in the two-match Test series. India went on to win the series by 1-0. India thrashed England by 5-0 during a seven-match ODI series before the Test.

India later became the number one Test team in the world, while Sachin went on to play 200 Test and scored a record 15,921 runs in the longest format of the game at an average of 53.78 which included 51 centuries.

MS Dhoni became the most successful captain for team India as he won all three major ICC trophies. MS Dhoni is still in team India and plays only the white ball cricket. Dhoni is part of the 15-member squad that will travel to England and Wales for World Cup 2019.
