Virat Kohli on verge of breaking Sachin Tendulkar's ODI record against Australia

Indian skipper Virat Kohli, currently the world number one batsman is known for breaking records and registering new ones. Virat Kohli was not at his best in the first World Cup match against South Africa as he was dismissed for just 18 runs when he edged a ball by Andile Phehlukwayo to wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock.

Virat Kohli is on verge of breaking another record and this time it is of ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar. Virat Kohli is just one century away to equal Sachin’s record in one-day internationals against Australia. Virat Kohli has 8 centuries to his name while playing against Australia, while former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has 9 centuries under his belt.


India is playing against Australia in their second World Cup match today and Virat Kohli elected to bat first after winning the toss. India won their first match against South Africa in Southampton by 6 wickets.

In head-to-head against Australia in World Cups reads 3-1. India has won just one game since 2003 when India defeated Australia in 2011 World Cup quarter-final.
