On the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan paid a heartfelt tribute to all the gurus and mentors in his life. From MS Dhoni to Yuvraj Singh, Dhawan’s tribute did not miss anyone including his childhood coach Madan bhaiya.

Shikhar Dhawan took to his official Twitter handle to convey his gratitude towards the teachers and mentors in his life. VVS Laxman, Ravi Shastri, Sanjay Bhanger and Ricky Ponting all of them found a place in Shikhar’s message.

Shikhar wrote, “On this Guru Purnima, I would like to whole heartedly thank all the teachers & mentors in my life who have guided, trained & nurtured me to reach at the topmost level of professional cricket. Special mention to my childhood coach Madan Bhaiya at Telefunken Cricket Club.”

Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the World Cup 2019 midway into the tournament when he suffered a thumb injury. Shikhar Dhawan fractured his thumb during India’s clash against Australia in the World Cup. Dhawan scored 127 runs in the match and was awarded the player of the match trophy after India beat Australia.

Dhawan is currently recovering from the injury and his progress is being monitored by the BCCI to confirm his selection for India’s tour of West Indies.
