Rajasthan Royals debunked 'ashwin rumours'

Setting the foundation for the upcoming 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), all the teams released their lists of retained and released players on November 15. Just before the last date, rumours that the Rajasthan Royals might release spinner Ravichandran Ashwin quickly gained traction on social media.

However, the list rubbished the rumours and it was found out that the spinner has been retained by the Royals.

Later, the franchise pulled the leg and trolled those on Twitter who believed in the rumours and thought the spinner will be sent back to the auction pool.

Despite the fact that R Ashwin didn’t perform well in the T20 World Cup 2022, he remains an integral part of the Royals. Actually, Ashwin’s marvellous performances in IPL led him to feature for India in back-to-back T20 World Cups, in 2021 and 2022.

The Royals took to their Twitter handle and shared a pic of R Ashwin after retaining him for the upcoming season. The caption read: "Did you really think?"
