IPL 2021 Auction: Here's look at complete squads of 8 franchises

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction set the stage for what could be another electrifying season of T20 cricket. As many as 57 players were bought and a total of Rs 145.3 crore was spent at the auction.

22 foreign players were traded and it was South Africa’s Chris Morris who shattered the all time record for the most expensive player when Rajasthan Royals won a close bidding war against Punjab Kings.

At the same time, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell continued his run of fetching big money at IPL auction even with a run-of-the-mill season in 2020 as he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Australian cricketer Riley Meredith also shattered the record for the most expensive overseas uncapped player when he was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 8 crore. Uncapped Indian all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham went for Rs 9.2 crore as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) went after the 32-year-old at the auction.

There were also a few surprises as India's Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara was bought by CSK while Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav found late buyers in Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Arjun Tendulkar was the last pick at the auction as Mumbai Indians bagged him for Rs 20 lakh.
