Delhi Daredevils have been able to keep their hopes alive by winning the match played last evening between DD and RR There were clouds of doubt over the match between the two teams as the rain endangered the game. Interestingly, it has not happened for the first time that clouds surrounded the game between the two teams. In the last clash when the teams met at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur, the match proved to be a tricky task for they failed to achieve the target set by Rajasthan Royals.

Delhi Daredevils just could not afford to see a match being washed out when they have only 2 wins off the eight matches they have played so far. However, the hosts were relieved when the showers stopped after around 45 minutes of rain. The match was reduced to 18 overs and everything was set again to go on.

Gautam Gambhir's decision to step down as the captain of the team has proved to be a fruitful one. DD has won 2 of the 3 matches it has played under the captaincy of Shreays Iyer. The first six matches looked just too difficult for the team and their batting struggled a lot while since Shreyas has taken the chance, there has been an incredible change of fortune for the Daredevils.

Since Gautam Gambhir has stepped down, he has not played a single match for the team. While Shreyas Iyer has been leading the team from the front. There are also Rishab Pant and Prithvi shaw taking the Daredevilry to the next level.

Even in the narrow loss against the mighty Chennai Super Kings, Delhi displayed the wit and intent to win the game by almost chasing down the mammoth total of 212 runs.
