Bangladesh Soumya Sarkar who took three wickets in their World Cup clash against Australia at Trent Bridge on Thursday, celebrated in the signature Cristiano Ronaldo style after he dismissed Aaron Finch in the 21st over. Soumya Sarkar’s celebration was however no where as compared to Cristiano Ronaldo’s.

Notwithstanding that, the ICC, equated Soumya Sarkar to Ronaldo with similar image of the two and asked fans, “Separated by birth”.

The tweet did not come out right among the fans, with many implying it as an insult to the five time Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo. While some fans also wanted to meet the admin personally and ask him to delete the tweet.

With the figures of 3/55 against Australia, Soumya Sarkar was the best performer with the ball for Bangladesh. He took important wickets of Warner, Finch and Khawaja but unfortunately by then, the Aussies were sailing forward with full authority in the game.

Defending champions Australia put up 381 runs target in demended 50 overs, although Bangladesh gave a good chase to the huge total, they fell short by 48 runs.

Following the defeat, Bangladesh are fifth in the World Cup points table with five points in six games.
