From Sachin Tendulkar to Virender Sehwag, here's how cricketers wished Narendra Modi

After prime minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party claimed victory in the 17th Lok Sabha elections of India many congratulatory messages poured in from all over the world. From world leaders to celebrities to sports stars, everyone wished Narendra Modi good luck for his second term.

Former India opener and ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar took to his official Twitter account to congratulate Narendra Modi for the landslide victory. Sachin wrote, “My heartiest congratulations to @narendramodi Ji & @BJP4India for winning the #LokSabhaElections2019...The nation is with you in building a brighter and stronger New India.”


Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag also wished Narendra Modi for his second term and Tweeted, “India has won. The world's largest democracy has given its mandate. May the second innings be even better and India continue to progress and reach greater heights. Jai Hind.”

 

Prime minister Narendra Modi-led BJP, who fought under National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won by a landslide victory. BJP has got more seats than 2014 and this the second time after independence and the first non-congress prime minister to win two consecutive terms with a thumping majority.

BJP has won 291 seats on its own and is leading on 12, while Congress party has 51 seats under their belt.
