England's World Cup-winning coach Trevor Bayliss takes charge of this IPL team

England’s World Cup-winning coach Trevor Bayliss is appointed as the head coach of Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. Tom Moody who was the coach of IPL 2016 titleholder was replaced by Trevor Bayliss earlier today in a press statement released by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Bayliss has already won two IPL trophies in the past when he was with Kolkata Knight Riders and also won the Big Bash League and Champions League with Sydney Sixers.


Sunrisers Hyderabad thanked Tom Moody who led Sunrisers Hyderabad to five playoff appearances over the past seven years including a title in 2016.

Tom Moody took to his official Twitter handle to confirm the news and thank all the players, support staff and fans. Moody wrote, “It’s been a privilege to work for Sunrisers Hyderabad, I have made many friendships and good memories. The success we’ve enjoyed over the 7 yrs is a testament to a hard-working team on and off the field. A special thank you to the players, support staff and all the fans.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad reached up to the play-offs in 2019 season but was knocked out of the tournament by Delhi Capitals. Sunrisers Hyderabad finished as runner-ups in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League.
