Sonakshi Sinha to play Dawood Ibrahim's sister; here's all you need to know about Haseena

After being a part of several commercial entertainers, Sonakshi Sinha proved her worth as an actor with her mature and effective performance in Lootera. Being stereotyped for doing the same kind of roles in all her films, the actress has finally taken a leap by signing three strong female centric characters.

Currently busy shooting for A R Murugadoss directorial Akira, a female-centric film, Sinha will soon start shooting for Force 2 along with John Abraham in which she will be seen as a RAW officer.

Sonakshi Sinha's biopic on Haseena

After Akira and Force 2, Sinha is all charged up to portray the titlular role in the biopic of Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar. The biopic directed by Apoorva Lakhia is titled Haseena - The Queen of Mumbai and will go on floors early next year.

Who is Haseena?

Known as the underworld queen, Haseena died at the age of 51 due to a massive heart attack in 2014. Haseena's rise as the underworld queen begun after her husband was killed by Arun Gawli's men in 1991.

Police officials said that Haseena would take cuts from all the builders and no building could be constructed from South Mumbai to Bandra without her consent. Haseena took care of Dawood's properties and interest in Mumbai. She also negotiated the overseas rights of Bollywood films, especially of the films to be released in the Gulf.

How is Sonakshi Sinha gearing up for her role?

Having learned martial arts for her upcoming film Akira, the actress will now attend several acting workshops for Haseena - The Queen of Mumbai.

While talking to Times of India, the actress said that she is very excited to play Dawood's sister in the film as she always wanted to play a character who is polar opposite to herself.
