After working with the Dharma productions banner in films like Student of The Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Varun Dhawan has now signed on for Shiddat.

The film, which will be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions in association with Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson, is said to be the most ambitious Dharma project till date.

Shiddat, touted to be a period film set against the backdrop of the 1947 India-Pakistan partition, will have two male leads. The hunt for a parallel lead opposite Varun Dhawan is currently on.
