Salman lends support to BMC open defecation free campaign
Superstar Salman Khan has extended his support to the open defecation free campaign of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in the city.
The actor visited a slum near Goregaon's Film City here yesterday to spread awareness about hygiene and sanitation, accompanied by municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta and few BMC senior officials.
"This is just the beginning. We have rebuilt toilets in more than 3,000 houses and gave them water connections... We are taking care of it. We will try to get permissions to build toilets in the houses if they have space for it," Salman said here.
Mehta said he is happy that the "Dabangg" star has come forward to urge people to use toilets.
"People listen to him and take it seriously. The Coporation is ready to do its best. I appeal to everyone to use toilets," he added.
Presently, Salman is busy promoting his next film "Tubelight". Kabir Khan directed film is set to release this Eid.
