Following the success of Kick, Sajid Nadiadwala announced Kick 2 with Salman Khan. It has been widely reported that actress Jacqueline Fernandez would not be a part of the film.
However, Sajid Nadiadwala in an interview with us revealed that the team is currently working on an interesting subject for the sequel and the star cast is yet to be locked.
"I have started writing Kick 2. It will go on floors only when I am satisfied with the script. The kind of films Salman Khan is doing these days, it would be a task for me to compete with them. Have a look at the kind of appreciation Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan got," said Nadiadwala.
Sajid further revealed that he feels burdened by the expectations of audiences from the sequel and he would announce the film only when something exceptional comes his way. He said:
"There is a lot of expectation from Kick 2 and more than that, Salman and I have almost 100% track record at the Box-Office. As a director, I was a bit apprehensive about Kick but when it scored well at the Box-Office, I feel it is my duty to deliver above the audience expectation. They accepted me as a big debut director and now it is my duty to write something that is very brilliant."
On being asked about Salman's involvement in the scripting process, Sajid said:
"Right now, he is busy with his own work and I have my own team to work on the script of Kick 2. I will present the script to Salman only when I am absolutely satisfied with it."
Kick marked the debut of Sajid Nadiadwala as a director and the film went on to rake in over Rs 230 crore at the Box-Office.
