Salman Khan blackbuck poaching case, complete timeline of events between 1998-2021

Providing a massive respite to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, a Jodhpur District and Sessions Court of Thursday repudiated a plea put in by the government of Rajasthan in the blackbuck poaching case. The Rajasthan government in its petition had alleged that Salman Khan had submitted a fake affidavit in relation to the Arms Act.

Subsequent to the court’s decree, the Bollywood actor’s legal representative Hastimal Saraswat stated that Khan never submitted a fake affidavit, further adding that the Rajasthan government's petition was rejected by the court in a comprehensive order. "Such pleas are being furnished only to disturb Salman Khan," Saraswat as said.


11th February, 2021: Jodhpur District and Sessions Court on Thursday rejected plea filed by the Rajasthan government against Salman Khan for 'false' affidavit in Arms Act case.

5th April, 2018: Salman Khan gets 5 years prison term and a Rs 10,000 fine is slapped.

28th March, 2018: Trial court reserves order.

24th March, 2018: Trial court completes final arguments.

27th January, 2017: All accused, which included Salman Khan, record statements in court.

11th November, 2016: Supreme Court agrees to listen to Rajasthan government's petition.

19th October, 2016: Govt of Rajasthan files petition in Supreme Court against High Court's order of acquitting the actor.

25th July, 2016: Because of the dearth of evidence, Salman Khan is pronounce not guilty in the blackbuck poaching case.

9th July, 2014: Supreme Court issues notice against Salman Khan on Rajasthan government's petition challenging High Court's order of suspending his conviction.

23rd May, 2013: Chief Judicial Magistrate court starts proceedings against all accused.

23rd March, 2013: A trial court in Rajasthan frames revised charges against all accused.

24th July, 2012: The Rajasthan High Court lays the basis for a proceeding in the case by finalising charges against all accused, which included Salman Khan.

31st August, 2007: The Rajasthan High Court upholds a lower court's order of five years preson term. But, charges against Salman Khan under the Arms Act are dropped.

10th April, 2006: Salman Khan is declared guilty in the case and a Rs 25,000 fine is slapped on the actor. The Bollywood actor was also sent to serve five years in jail.

19th February, 2006: Charges are framed against all accused after the arguments.

9th November, 2000: The case was filed before Chief Judicial Magistrate.

12th October, 1998: Salman Khan, who was arrested for hunting two blackbucks, was given bail by a court.

2nd October, 1998: A case was filed by Bishnoi villagers against Salman Khan and other actors of the movie 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' for killing two blackbucks.

September 1998: Salman Khan along with Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelma, Tabu, Dushyant Singh and Dinesh Gawre allegedly hunted blackbucks in the time of shooting 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in Rajasthan's Kankani.
