Rhea Chakraborty opens up about her viral WhatsApp chat with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt

Rhea Chakraborty, in an interview with India Today’s Rajdeep Sardesai, divulged key specifics about the WhatsApp chat between her and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt on 8th July, the same day that Rhea left Sushant Singh Rajput’s Bandra apartment.

The actress through her legal representative, Satish Maneshinde, had earlier stated that Sushant wanted her to leave the house, however, her WhatsApp exchanges with Bhatt pointed out that she left by choice and that Bhatt was both aware as well as supported her in the matter.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Rhea, however stated that while she was distressed when she left Sushant's apartment, she didn’t make any contact with Bhatt, those messages had nothing to do with her and Sushant.

"I was upset and hurt, that SSR didn't call me back and didn't want me back, I wondered if he wanted to push me away because I was unwell. But my conversation with Bhattsaab had nothing to do with that," Rhea said.

Furthermore Rhea Chakraborty unequivocally dismissed reports of eight hard drives being destroyed ahead of her exit from Sushant’s apartment, "This is a baseless allegation, there was no hard drive that I know of, no one came while I was there. Perhaps, after I left, his sister may have called someone, but I am not aware of it. I don't even think Siddharth Pithani said something like that, I believe this is a concocted story, much like several others doing the rounds."

Rhea continue to be the main accused in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, with many allegations taking aim at her - from siphoning off Rs 15 crore to gaining control over Sushant’s life by changing all his staff members. In response to that, Rhea stated, "I did not do anything to gain control of his life. He knew Siddharth Pithani since before he knew me. Samuel Miranda was hired by his sister, Priyanka. Even Keshav, Neeraj and Dipesh were with him since before me. In fact, he introduced me to them."

In recent times Sandip Singh has come under the scanner after his records for the past year displayed that he had not been in touch with Sushant Singh Rajput at all. Sushant's family also questioned who Sandip was, and why have they not heard of him in the past. However, Sandip was the first person to reach SSR's Bandra apartment on 14th June when the actor died.

When asked if she knew who Sandip was, Rhea reiterated SSR's family's claim, and said, "I don't know Sandip, he has never come home, he never called. If he is such a good friend, where was he from the last one-and-a-half years?"
