Ranveer Singh started training for '83, the film on Kapil Dev and his famed 1983 World Cup win; see pictures

Ranveer Singh, who is currently enjoying the success of his film Simmba has started preparing for his upcoming film ‘83. The actor shared a picture from his training session on social media, where his is seen preparing with full cricket kit. Ranveer, who will play the role of Kapil Dev in the film and will showcase his biggest achievement of winning the 1983 World Cup.

 


 

 

The film will be around the India’s win against the West Indies in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. And if reports are to be believed, Deepika Padukone will play the role of Ranveer’s onscreen wife in the film. Last year, Ranveer also shared a picture with film director Kabir Khan and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Ranveer also visited the Lord’s Cricket Ground where the final between India and West Indies was played.

Directed by Kabir Khan, '83, is expected to release on April 10, 2020. Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, which also stars Alia Bhatt and will release on February 14 this year.
