Anushka Sharma in Phillauri

Phillauri starring Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma is the actress’s second production after NH 10. The film, co-produced by Fox Star Studio releases on nearly 1000 screens in India and is expected to take a good opening in the Northern belt of our country.

The trailer as well as songs found appreciation from a section of audiences however despite that, Phillauri will majorly be dependent on word of mouth publicity for the box office success.

Target Audience:

Phillauri will majorly be targeting the families in Delhi and Punjab and the local flavour in the film should help it collect a respectable number on the opening day. A positive word of mouth might get the audiences in cinema halls in cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore.

Box-Office Prediction:

  • Opening Day: Rs 4.50 crore
  • Opening Weekend: Rs 16 crore
  • Lifetime Collection: Rs 28 to 30 crore

Analysis:

Phillauri is a pretty safe film as far as return on investment is concerned as major chunk of investment has been recovered from sale of satellite and music rights.

Despite that it is essential for the film to record a decent run at the box-office to attain the ‘Hit’ tag as films are eventually made for a theatrical run. Diljit Dosanjh’s presence would boost the collections by a considerable extent in the Punjab belt as the actor is probably the biggest superstar to have come out from Punjabi film industry.

Phillauri is a perfect example of a ‘Saturday film’ wherein the jump in collections on Saturday would decide the final verdict of the film. Collections in the Rs 30 crore range is essential for the film to be termed as successful.
