The Narcotics Control Bureau (NBC) on Friday arrived at Rhea Chakraborty’s Mumbai residence to conduct a search operation. Up to this point, the anti-drug agency has arrested five people in the drugs angle relating to Sushant Singh Rajput deat case.

The residences of Showik Chakraborty Rhea’s brother and Samuel Miranda, who is late actor’s former housekeeping manager, are also being searched in line with rule under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The NBC on Wednesday stated that it has apprehended Abdul Basit Parihar from Bandra. “He had a connection with Samuel Miranda. Miranda is accused of procuring drugs on instructions of Showik Chakraborty (the brother of prime accused and Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty)”.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-housekeeping manager, Samuel Miranda was appointed by Rhea Chakraborty in May 2019. He used to look after all the household expenses. Rajput’s family has made serious allegations against Miranda - of helping Chakraborty in siphoning off his money and supplying the drugs.

The anti-drug agency has also taken Zaid Vilatra into custody from Mumbai in relation to the case, Zaid is understood to be enmeshed in the supply of drugs such as bud or curated marijuana to the high-end party circles of Mumbai.

According to NCB investigators, he was arrested after they got some “vital leads” into the case registered against actor Chakraborty and others.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also investigating the matter. It has summoned Chakraborty’s father for second round of questioning on Wednesday. Previously, the CBI had interrogated Rhea’s parents for the first time in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on Tuesday.

Indrajeet Chakraborty and mother Sandhya arrived at the DRDO guest house where the CBI probe team is staying, around 11 am and left in the evening after nearly eight hours of questioning. The central probe agency continued the interrogation of her brother Showik, who was summoned for questioning for the first time last week.

Rhea and her family are out of those named in the FIR lodged by the Patna Police following a complaint from late actor’s family who has accused her of abetting his suicide and misappropriating the money. Rhea has been questioned for approximately 35 hours by the probe agency in the last four days.
